REEDSPORT, Ore. — High winds forced the SOLVE environmental group to cancel last weekend’s cleanup on the Oregon coast, although volunteers did work on 50 inland projects.

SOLVE Executive Director Maureen Fisher told The World (http://bit.ly/16h2uOT ) that 47 beach cleanup projects will be rescheduled, but probably not on a single day.

About 1,300 volunteers on 50 inland projects last Saturday collected more than 12 tons of waste and materials from neighborhoods and natural areas, cleared invasive vegetation from about two acres, and planted 420 trees at parks, schools and natural areas.
