Caregiver conference focuses on Alzheimer’s

The Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington is hosting its 10th annual caregiver conference this month.

The workshop is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at PeaceHealth Southwest Health Education Center, 400 N.E. Mother Joseph Place. The workshop costs $10, which includes lunch and a continental breakfast. Scholarships are available.

The workshop is aimed at family caregivers for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. It’s open to spouses, partners, adult children and friends.

The event’s keynote speaker is Teepa Snow, a national dementia expert. In addition, she has cared for two family members with dementing illnesses.
