ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have signed forward Jason Pominville to a five-year contract extension.
The Wild announced the signing on Thursday in advance of the team’s season opener against the Kings. Terms were not disclosed.
Pominville came to Minnesota from Buffalo last year in a trade for well-regarded prospects Matt Hackett and Johan Larsson. Pominville had four goals and five assists in 10 games for the Wild last season before the 2012 All-Star went down with a concussion.
Getting the deal done before the season started was a priority both for Pominville and the Wild.
