ZURICH (AP) — FIFA has reprimanded Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell for diving to get United States defender Matt Besler booked in a World Cup qualifying match.

FIFA says its disciplinary panel could act against any player who violates the principles of fair play or whose behavior is unsporting.

The U.S. Soccer Federation sent a video to FIFA after the incident during Costa Rica’s 3-1 win on Sept. 6.

It showed Campbell walking behind Besler, clipping his own foot off the American’s leg then falling to the ground.

Besler was given a yellow card by Mexican referee Marco Rodriguez and was suspended for the Americans’ 2-0 victory over Mexico four days later.

The U.S. and Costa Rica each have qualified for the World Cup in Brazil.
