EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Veteran guard Chris Snee has been placed on injured reserve by the New York Giants and is out for the rest of the season because of an injured hip.
A two-time Super Bowl winner and four-time Pro Bowler, the 10-year veteran might not need surgery, although he said, “that’s likely what we’re looking at.” He had offseason surgery on his other hip.
A second-round draft choice in 2004, Snee started 152 of 159 regular-season and postseason games. Another veteran, David Diehl, will replace him at right guard against Philadelphia on Sunday.
Snee also is the son-in-law of Giants coach Tom Coughlin.
