Evergreen Public Schools has been awarded a Community Pride Design Award by Clark County Community Development for Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School, which opened last month.

HeLa was designed by LSW Architects and constructed by Skanska, both of Vancouver. The school is the first of its kind in the state. The school is at 9105 N.E. Ninth St., northeast of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

A Nov. 8 awards ceremony will recognize the school and other outstanding projects that enhance the livability of the community and demonstrate quality development.
