Jackson State beats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 42-33

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Tommy Gooden rushed for 214 yards and four touchdowns to rally Jackson State to a 42-33 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Southwestern Athletic Conference play on Saturday night.

Gooden’s 30-yard touchdown with 1 minute remaining in the game sealed the win for Jackson State. The Tigers (4-2, 4-0) held Arkansas-Pine Bluff scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Jackson State trailed 23-21 at halftime, but Gooden took over in the second half, scoring from 43, 3 and 30 yards out.

Moore hit Tobias Singleton for a 37-yd touchdown to get the Tigers on the board late in the first after giving up 13 points to the Golden Lions. Moore connected for a TD again on a Zach Pendleton reception with 19 seconds left in the second quarter giving the Tigers the lead. With no time left in the half, the Golden Lions (0-5, 0-3) hit a 51-yard field goal to re-take the lead.
