Letter: Can one opinion sway the masses?

Published: October 3, 2013, 5:00pm

Are not the letters to the editor really just for entertainment only? Do any of them serve to actually influence the people in power who make high-level decisions? If not, then how can we, as just an ordinary citizen who has no interest in running for a political office or has no interest in attending some meeting of complainers where 10 percent of the attendees take up 90 percent of the time, make a difference to better the lives of the local people?
