WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) — Julian Hayes and Kwabena Asante each topped 100 yards rushing for the fourth consecutive game to lead Monmouth over Robert Morris 35-9 on Saturday.

The Hawks (3-3) used their running backs as a one-two punch, relying more heavily on Hayes for the first three quarters and turning to Asante to close out the game in the fourth. Hayes finished with 104 yards on 26 carries and Asante ran 15 times for 103 yards.

The Monmouth passing game was equally effective. Brandon Hill passed for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Neal Sterling had five catches for 90 yards.

Robert Morris (2-3) was able to move the ball but struggled with third and fourth downs, failing to convert either until the game was out of reach in the fourth quarter.

Deontae Howard had 14 carries for 76 yards for the Colonials, and Paul Jones was 18 of 33 for 183 yards.
