PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard C.J. McCollum will need surgery after fracturing his left foot during practice.

It won’t be known how long McCollum will be out until after he undergoes the procedure. He was hurt Saturday.

McCollum was the 10th overall pick in the June draft out of Lehigh.

He averaged 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.05 steals over four seasons and finished with 2,361 points, making him the career leader in the Patriot League.

The 6-foot-3 guard suffered a similar injury to his left foot his senior year at Lehigh and missed the final two months of the season.
