Letter: Public misses budget strategy

The Columbian
Published: October 7, 2013, 5:00pm

Have Obama’s budget problems been engineered to call it one thing, when it’s really another? The national budget has been in deep financial trouble for years, and stalling a budget agreement by shutting down governmental departments and entities for a few days may save billions and could accomplish staying within acceptable budget borders. Thus, when the shutdown hits their budget goals, the electoral body may suddenly accomplish an agreement and things will move forward. While that’s a slick way to balance a budget that’s been out of control for years, the public hasn’t caught on to that yet.
