MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Marquette Golden Eagles are back on the court with hopes of making another deep run to the NCAA tournament.

First, coach Buzz Williams needs to break in a new backcourt to replace the trio of Vander Blue, Junior Cadougan and Trent Lockett. They helped Marquette advance to the regional finals before getting ousted by Syracuse.

Williams said September was tough for the team because of a lack of leadership. But new voices have emerged with training camp underway.

Senior forward Jamil Wilson has stepped up as a leader Wilson, who primarily came off the bench last season, figures to play a bigger role on the court, too.

Marquette lost its leading scorer in Blue, but does return its next top two scorers in forwards Davante Gardner and Wilson.
