CAMP MURRAY — Tsunami sirens will blare on the Washington coast for three minutes next week as part of a statewide earthquake drill.
Officials with the state Military Department’s Emergency Management Division said Friday that the test will begin at 10:17 a.m. Thursday in Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties as part of the Great Washington ShakeOut earthquake drill.
The Great Washington ShakeOut features a statewide “drop, cover and hold on” drill on the same time and date. State officials hope more than 1 million people will participate in Washington, which is participating with many other states.
