Dayton builds early lead, beats Stetson 49-20

DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Connor Kacsor rushed for three touchdowns and Dayton rode a fast start to a 49-20 victory over Stetson on Saturday.

The Flyers (4-2, 2-1 Pioneer Football League) scored four touchdowns on their first 10 plays, including a 61-yard run by Robert Washington and a 77-yard pass play from Will Bardo to Gary Hunter.

Kacsor, a sophomore, now has five games with 100-plus yards rushing in 15 career starts. He scored on runs of 21, 17 and 10 yards, finishing with 128 yards on 22 carries.

The Flyers only went to the air 18 times, piling up 261 yards rushing on 51 carries.

The Hatters (1-5, 0-3), playing their first season of football since the program was discontinued in 1957, suffered their fifth consecutive loss. They had 308 yards total offense, but had three turnovers. Ryan Tentler threw for 173 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns on 11-of-18 passing.
