Lancaster leads Butler to 35-14 win over Campbell

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Matt Lancaster had 312 total yards, 231 passing and 81 rushing, to lead Butler to a 35-14 win over Campbell Saturday, keeping the Bulldogs perfect in Pioneer League play.

Brendan Shannon was Lancaster’s primary receiver, hauling in 10 passes for 166 yards for Butler (5-2, 3-0 PFL). Trae Heeter also rushed for two touchdowns, amassing 134 yards on 21 carries.

The Bulldogs had a comfortable 28-0 halftime lead as Lancaster threw for one touchdown and rushed for another. Heeter scored on runs from 15 yards and 1 yard out in the first two quarters.

Campbell (1-5, 0-3 Pioneer) got on the board when DeShawn Jones broke off a 45-yard run in the third quarter.

Butler entered the game tied with Marist and San Diego for the Pioneer League lead. Those two teams played a late game.
