SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda (AP) — Masters champion Adam Scott had a record round at Port Royal to win the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
Starting the final day of the 36-hole exhibition three shots behind, Scott set the course record with a 7-under 64 on Wednesday to beat U.S. Open champion Justin Rose by two shots.
The PGA Grand Slam is for the four major champions this year.
Scott and Rose are good friends, and the Australian sent him a text after winning the Masters that it was “our time.” Rose then won the U.S. Open at Merion. This day, however, belonged to the Masters champion.
PGA champion Jason Dufner was third, followed by three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, the alternate who filled in for British Open champion Phil Mickelson.
