EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The second-ranked Oregon Ducks are again making a bold fashion statement, but this time it’s for a good cause.
The Ducks will wear pink helmets, along with pink cleats, socks and gloves, when they play the Washington Cougars on Saturday night at Autzen Stadium. Black pants and black jerseys will complete the ensemble.
Already known for their fashion-forward uniforms, Oregon is donning the new accessories as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Following the game, the Ducks will auction off some of the Nike-designed helmets to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, named after the renowned North Carolina State coach who died of breast cancer in 2009.
