ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Gulsary won the $54,000 feature by a half-length at Santa Anita on Thursday.

Ridden by Gary Stevens, the Ireland-bred filly ran a mile on the turf in 1:34.78 and paid $5.60, $3.40 and $3 as the 9-5 favorite in the field of six fillies and mares.

Lady Asano returned $5 and $3.80, while Life Is a Stone was another 214 lengths back in third and paid $4 to show.

The victory, worth $32,400, increased Gulsary’s career earnings to $85,028, with three wins. She ran 10 times in France before coming to the U.S. earlier this year.
