DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Cary White and Isidore Jackson accounted for six first-half touchdowns as Bethune-Cookman ran over Savannah State 48-21 Saturday night.
White had rushing touchdowns of 1, 24 and 12 yards. Jackson rushed for two touchdowns, and also caught a 16-yard TD pass from Quentin Williams as Bethune-Cookman (6-1, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Conference) built a 42-7 halftime lead. Michael D. Jones rushed for a 27-yard score to give the Wildcats their sixth rushing touchdown.
The Wildcats, who had 192 yards passing, haven’t thrown for more than 300 yards in a game since November 20, 2010.
Leon Prunty, Savannah State’s freshman quarterback, came off the bench and connected with Simon Heyward for a 76-yard TD pass to put the Tigers on the board. Antonio Bostick, who started and finished the game, was 17 of 36 for 202 yards with two touchdowns to lead the Tigers (1-7, 0-4).
