Clark soccer teams post shutouts

It was a Saturday sweep for the Clark College soccer teams as the Clark men shut out South Puget Sound 4-0, and the Clark women defeated Lane 1-0, both games played at Clark College.

Bernardino Ayala-Jimenez and Christian Desir each scored two goals in the men’s victory. Johnathan Morales had five saves in goal to earn the shutout.

Clark, ranked third in the NWAACC coaches poll and the South division champion, improved to 14-2-1 overall, 9-1-0 in the division.

Megan Beal scored in the 86th minute for the Clark women, and Victoria Fulton made seven saves to preserve the shutout against Lane.

The Clark women improved to 7-8-2 on the season, 7-4-1 in the South division. They are tied for second place with Lane.

Volleyball — Clark lost in its only match at Day 2 of the Bellevue crossover tournament, falling to Olympic 25-15, 25-15.

The Penguins finished the 12-team event with a 3-2 record.
