E Illinois eases past SE Missouri State 55-33

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns to lead Eastern Illinois to a 55-33 win over Southeast Missouri State Saturday.

Adam Drake, 138 yards with one touchdown and Erik Lora, 131 yards and one TD, were Garoppolo’s main targets.

Garoppolo found Lora on a 60-yard scoring strike the first time the Panthers had the ball. On the first play on their next possession Garoppolo found Drake for an 82-yard score to put Eastern Illinois out front 14-0.

The Panthers then went to their ground game as Shephard Little scored three times to give them a 41-20 lead at the half. Little and Taylor Duncan accounted for four touchdowns and 238 rushing yards as Eastern Illinois (6-1, 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference) amassed 665 total yards.

The Redhawks (1-6, 1-3) scored on a Scott Lathrop to Spencer Davis pass from the 15 to make it 14-6 in the first quarter.
