BOSTON (AP) — Nine-time Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige will sing the national anthem before Game 1 of the World Series.

The St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox open on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

Blige also performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Game 6 of the 2009 World Series between Philadelphia and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Earlier this month, Blige released her first holiday album, “A Mary Christmas.”
