Hospitality industry topic in WSUV seminar series

Washington State University Vancouver’s Chancellor’s Seminar Series turns its attention to the tourism industry with speakers offering insight into the sector’s regional growth.

The luncheon is 11:45 a.m. Nov. 1 in Firstenburg Student Commons, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. Featured speakers are George Schweitzer, local hospitality industry executive, and Nancy Swanger, director and associate professor in the School of Hospitality Business Management at WSU.

Schweitzer will discuss the driving forces behind regional growth in the hospitality industry and how it benefits the economy. Swanger will offer perspective on the expansion of the hospitality business management program to WSU Vancouver.

Jamie Callison, WSU executive chef, will sign his new cookbook, “The Crimson Spoon.”
