WASHINGTON (AP) — Jim Lewis has been hired by Georgetown as interim coach of women’s basketball, replacing Keith Brown, who resigned after an investigation into players’ accusations of unprofessional conduct and inappropriate language.

Lewis most recently was an assistant coach and scout for the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, a team he left in May.

He previously was a head coach or assistant with three other WNBA teams and spent 14 years as George Mason’s coach.

Thursday’s announcement comes two weeks after Brown’s resignation. The school began looking into the allegations against Brown three weeks before that.

The Hoyas were 15-16 in Brown’s only year as head coach.
