SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) — Eric Soza shared the wealth as he threw to 11 different receivers for a total of 235 yards and two touchdowns to lead Texas-San Antonio to a 52-31 victory over UAB Saturday.
Soza, who also rushed for 48 yards, led UTSA (3-5, 2-2 Conference USA) to a 24-0 advantage in the first quarter. The Roadrunners scored on their first five possessions to take a 38-10 lead at halftime. They finished with 523 total yards, a school record.
Brandon Armstrong, who rushed for 54 yards on four carries, got UTSA on the board with a 22-yard run. Armstrong also hauled in a 51-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Evans Okotcha scored from 10 yards out to stretch the lead to 45-10 in the third quarter.
Jonathan Perry threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns for the Blazers. Jamarcus Nelson had 101 yards receiving and one touchdown for UAB.
