Laskey, Sims lead Georgia Tech past Virginia 35-25

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Zach Laskey and David Sims each ran for two touchdowns as Georgia Tech defeated Virginia 35-25 Saturday.

Robert Godhigh also ran for a touchdown for Georgia Tech (5-3, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), which survived five turnovers and responded every time Virginia (2-6, 0-4 ACC) made it close.

The Yellow Jackets scored on a 36-yard Sims run on the third play of the game and never trailed. Laskey scored on runs of 7 and 4 yards, and Godhigh had a 65-yarder in the fourth quarter after Virginia had cut the lead to 21-17. Sims sealed it with a 29-yard TD with 1:55 left after Virginia had again cut the lead to 28-25.

Virginia’s Darius Jennings had 13 catches for 119 yards and Tim Smith had 10 receptions for 151 yards.
