SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame forward Natalie Achonwa is expected to miss more than a month with a knee injury.

Coach Muffet McGraw told the South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/17WJCSs ) that Achonwa suffered a small tear and she is hopeful Achonwa will be back in four to six weeks. The 6-foot-3 senior who averaged 13.8 points and 9.5 rebounds last season missed nearly three weeks at the beginning of the 2011-2012 season with a torn meniscus.

McGraw said Kayla McBride has a sprained ankle and Ariel Braker is dealing with knee pain and were doubtful for Wednesday’s exhibition game against California (Pa.), but are expected to be ready for the Nov. 9 season-opener against North Carolina-Wilmington.
