EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The Meadowlands Racetrack has cancelled its thoroughbred racing card because of rainy weather.

The track announced on Friday morning that heavy rains overnight rain in northern New Jersey and the forecast for more through early afternoon forced the cancellation of live racing. The track planned to remain open for simulcasting, including the full-card from Santa Anita and Day One of the Breeders’ Cup races.

Live racing is expected to resume Saturday, the final day of the all-turf Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet.
