Letter: I-522 is a matter of having a choice

I support Initiative 522. As a home economist, I know that it is important for people, especially children, to know what they are consuming. I-522 will require that genetically engineered foods be identified on the label. Parents will have a choice. If big corporations defeat I-522, we will not have any choice or know whether products contain GMOs. Because we know the importance of being able to eliminate certain items from our diet, processed foods must have the ingredients listed. The same should apply for GMO food. Give Washingtonians a choice by voting “yes” on I-522 for your health and mine.
