BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The benching of LSU running back Jeremy Hill is over, and he is already on the board for the ninth-ranked Tigers.

Hill, who was arrested last spring for landing a punch outside a bar, saw his first action in the first series of the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against UAB.

After sitting out one game and one quarter, he was in for all of a three-play, 19-yard scoring drive early in the second quarter, which ended with Hill’s 3-yard run through the left side of the line.

The touchdown gave LSU, a five-touchdown favorite, a 28-0 lead over UAB.

Hill was LSU’s leading rusher last season, with 755 yards and 12 touchdowns.
