CHICAGO (AP) — Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth is inactive for Sunday’s season opener against the Chicago Bears.

Whitworth is recovering from offseason surgery to clean out his left knee, and Cincinnati went easy with him in the offseason and training camp to get him back to full strength. The eight-year veteran had started 67 consecutive games for the Bengals, who drafted him in the second round in 2006.

With Whitworth out, Cincinnati went with Anthony Collins at left tackle, the 19th career start for Collins, the last two coming at right tackle in 2011.

The Bears have all their key players available.
