RIETI, Italy (AP) — Caster Semenya showed she’s back with a dominating win in the 800 meters at the Rieti World Challenge meeting Sunday.

Semenya, the 2009 world champion and 2012 Olympic silver medalist from South Africa, clocked 1 minute 58.92 seconds in the two-lap race, her best time this season. She finished far ahead of runner-up Nelly Jepkosgei of Kenya, who crossed in a personal-best 1:59.40.

Semenya missed last month’s worlds in Moscow because of a right knee injury. She said she’s aiming to return to top form for next year’s Commonwealth Games.
