SEATTLE — Seattle police say a baptism celebration turned into a brawl in which five officers were assaulted and two celebrants were arrested.

Police say abundant alcohol was being served Saturday night at the South Park Community Center to celebrate the baptism, and fighting broke out before midnight.

When officers arrived and tried to break up the fights, the crowd turned on them. A citywide call for help brought in more police and King County deputies to disperse the crowd.

Of the five officers who were assaulted, two had minor injuries. The two suspects were jailed for investigation of assault.
