Jovanovski only seeded player in Tashkent semis

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (AP) — Top-seeded Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia was the only seeded player to make it to the semifinals of the Tashkent Open, beating Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) on Thursday.

The three other seeded players in the quarterfinals lost.

Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor of Spain defeated third-seeded Yvonne Meusburger of Austria 6-3, 6-0, Mandy Minella of Luxembourg beat fourth-seeded Nastassja Burnett of Italy 7-6 (4), 7-5, and Olga Govortsova of Belarus beat fifth-seeded Alexandra Cadantu of Romania 6-3, 6-2.

In the semifinals, Jovanovski will play Torro-Flor, while Govortsova will meet Minella.
