Montana leads Tulane over Louisiana Tech 24-15

RUSTON, La. (AP) — Nick Montana threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns to help Tulane rally for a 24-15 win over Louisiana Tech on Thursday night.

The Green Wave (2-1, 1-0 Conference USA) trailed 9-7 at halftime before Lorenzo Doss made an interception to set up a 51-yard field goal by Cairo Santos.

Montana helped Tulane put the game out of reach late in the third quarter, leading a 94-yard, 11-play drive culminating with a 38-yard scoring pass to Xavier Rush. Montana, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana, finished 20-for-36 passing.

Orleans Darkwa added a one-yard touchdown run with 6:03 left in the game to make it 24-9 after Louisiana Tech (1-2, 0-1) turned the ball over inside its own 20. Rob Kelley rushed for 87 yards and Darkwa ran for 68 for Tulane.

Ryan Higgins threw a late scoring pass and Kyle Fischer kicked three field goals for the Bulldogs.
