Christina McHale of US reaches semis in Quebec

QUEBEC, Ontario (AP) — Christina McHale advanced to the semifinals of the Bell Challenge, rallying to beat Polona Hercog of Slovenia 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Friday night.

The American will face Marina Erakovic of New Zealand on Saturday with a chance to reach the finals. Erakovic beat Ajla Tomljanovic of Croatia 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.

Canadian teenager Eugenie Bouchard also advanced to the semis by beating Kristina Mladenovic of France 6-3, 6-2. Bouchard will face Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic, who beat American Lauren Davis 6-2, 6-4.
