DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Andy Vailas and Nico Steriti each accounted for two touchdowns as New Hampshire used a dominant first half to rout Colgate 53-23.

New Hampshire (1-1) raced to a 19-0 first quarter lead behind two touchdown passes from Vailas to Harold Spears. A 50-yard touchdown pass from Sean Goldrich to R.J. Harris later gave the Wildcats 26 first quarter points.

Steriti then ran for two scores_one of which was a 56-yarder_to give New Hampshire a 40-6 halftime lead.

In addition to giving up 551 yards of total offense, Colgate (0-3) struggled offensively as well. The Raiders finished with only 46 passing yards as Dylan Finelli completed just five of his 18 pass attempts and threw two interceptions.

New Hampshire’s 53 points were its most since last September, when the Wildcats put up 61 points in a loss to Old Dominion.

Demetrius Russell finished with 144 yards rushing for the Raiders.
