o Tyler Nagel, who was president of Financial Techniques Inc. for 15 years, has joined Vancouver-based NW Tax & Wealth Advisory Group as an independent investment adviser. Nagel started his career in financial planning in 1995 after earning a bachelor of science degree in journalism and communication from the University of Oregon.

o Tom Mears, board chairman of Vancouver-based The Holland Inc., the parent of Burgerville, has joined Warner Pacific College’s Social Entrepreneurial Advisory Board. Members of the group will assist with the school’s new degree program, Social Entrepreneurship. The program’s focus is to equip students with the expertise needed to create innovative business ventures that address society’s most pressing challenges.

• The Clark County Food Bank recently welcomed three interns to help address the growing hunger needs in the county. Xanna Burg and Kaitlin O’Brien are sponsored by the AmeriCorps program. Both have undergraduate degrees in dietetics. Allison Kirkland, a recent marketing and management graduate, will work to increase community awareness and outreach for the food bank. Her internship is provided under the Oregon Leadership Development Institute.

o Lauren Rockey has recently joined the staff at Humane Society for Southwest Washington. In her role a as a veterinarian for the shelter, Rockey manages care and administers treatment for animals brought into the shelter.

o Cassie Guthmiller has joined Davidson Insurance as receptionist-administrative assistant. She has five years’ experience in the insurance industry and an extensive administrative background. Guthmiller lives in Washougal.

• The Camas/Washougal Chamber of Commerce has added three people to the board of directors. They are Cindy Forslund of US Bank Home Mortgage; Kathleen Romane, Lacamas Community Credit Union; and Don Dire, Nies Insurance Agency. The new executive committee president is Nancy Viuhkola of Georgia Pacific.

Other business news

o Metro Bistro and Wine Bar will reopen with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at 112 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield. A wandering gypsy carnival for all ages, 4 to 8 p.m., will be in the Belltower Courtyard at Avalon Events, 113 S. Main Ave. in Ridgefield. At 8 p.m., there will be a Bohemian Burlesque Show, 21 and older, in the church. 360-887-8888.
