MADRID (AP) — Christopher Horner was at the center of a drug-testing mix-up Monday, the day after the 41-year-old American cyclist won the Spanish Vuelta.
Spain’s anti-doping agency says it received a request from its American counterpart, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, to perform a routine test on Horner early Monday. The rider, however, was not at the address the Spanish agency had been given.
Horner had spent the night at a different hotel than the rest of his RadioShack-Leopard team. His team released a statement saying Horner had updated his whereabouts with the USADA, giving the name of his hotel for the night and other details.
