FREMONT, Calif. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded cornerback Jamell Fleming off waivers from Arizona, adding depth with both starters injured.
The Jaguars also re-signed guard Jacques McClendon to the 53-man roster. To make room for Fleming and McClendon, the team waived receiver Jeremy Ebert and cornerback Marcus Burley. The team also signed defensive end Chris McCoy to the practice squad.
Fleming, a third-round draft pick from Oklahoma in 2012, played in 15 games with three starts as a rookie. He had 24 tackles and three special teams tackles. He was buried on the depth chart under a new coaching staff, inactive for Week 1 and waived Saturday.
He could help the Jaguars, who are playing without cornerback Dwayne Gratz (ankle). Fellow starter Alan Ball has a groin injury.
