BRYANT, Ark. (AP) — Police say former Arkansas and NFL running back Cedric Cobbs has been arrested on suspicion of trying to obtain narcotic painkillers by using a fraudulent prescription.

Bryant police say Cobbs was arrested Tuesday after a pharmacy worker reported that two men were trying to obtain 180 Roxicodone painkillers with a forged prescription.

Police say Cobbs was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to obtain drugs by fraud, fleeing and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Cobbs remained in the Saline County jail Wednesday morning, and court records don’t list an attorney.

Cobbs played for the Razorbacks from 1999 to 2003, and he was drafted by New England a year later. He played for the Denver Broncos from 2005 to 2006 and later joined the Arkansas Twisters arena football team in 2008.
