ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Reggie McKenzie heard all the preseason predictions from the pundits that had his Oakland Raiders pegged as one of the worst teams in the NFL.
After a tight road loss at Indianapolis and a home win over Jacksonville to start the season, the Raiders general manager is not ready to crow about his team’s success.
McKenzie says it’s far too early to make any judgments about his team and that any vindication would come if the Raiders make the playoffs.
McKenzie said he understood the doubts after Oakland brought in nine new defensive starters and had an unsettled quarterback spot that was eventually filled by Terrelle Pryor. McKenzie says Pryor has improved by “leaps and bounds” from last season.
