GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — No. 19 Florida has suspended freshman receiver Demarcus Robinson for violating team rules.

The Gators announced the suspension Saturday, about two hours before kickoff against Southeastern Conference rival Tennessee.

Robinson is the team’s sixth player suspended in three games, joining linebacker Antonio Morrison, cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy, defensive tackle Darious Cummings, receiver Latroy Pittman and offensive lineman Quinteze Williams.

Coaches raved about Robinson, a 6-foot-2 target from Fort Valley, Ga., in fall practice. They insisted he would make a huge impact in his first season. But Robinson has no catches and hasn’t played much even though Florida lacks offensive playmakers, especially at receiver.

Robinson caught 53 passes for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns as a high school senior last year. He played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
