Tesoro-Savage plans oil terminal presentation

The Columbian
Published: September 20, 2013, 5:00pm

The companies proposing to build an energy distribution terminal at the Port of Vancouver will host a community presentation, starting at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Hudson’s Bay High School’s commons area, 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd., Vancouver.

The terminal, proposed jointly by San Antonio, Texas-based Tesoro Corp. and Salt Lake City-based Savage Companies, would serve as a transfer facility to handle railcars carrying North American crude oil that would be transferred to marine vessels for shipment to West Coast refineries.

After the presentation, company representatives will be on hand to discuss such topics as the terminal’s design and operations, marine safety, spill planning and response, rail safety and the review process for the project, to be conducted by the Washington State Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council. An RSVP is requested at info@vancouverenergyterminal.com.
