EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Buffalo safety Jairus Byrd is out for the Bills’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Byrd, who hasn’t played this season while dealing with plantar fasciitis, had been upgraded from doubtful to questionable Friday.

Stephon Gilmore, the Bills’ top cornerback, was ruled out earlier in the week. Also inactive are guard Doug Legursky, who had been questionable while recovering from a preseason knee injury, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, cornerback Ron Brooks, tight end Chris Gragg and kicker Dustin Hopkins.

Linebacker Quinton Coples, the team’s sacks leader as a rookie last season, was active for the Jets for the first time since suffering a hairline fracture in his right ankle in the preseason.

Among New York’s inactives are wide receiver Ryan Spadola, linebacker Ricky Sapp and quarterback Brady Quinn.
