FREMONT, Calif. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed receiver Jeremy Ebert off the practice squad and waived guard Jacques McClendon.

The Jaguars need help at receiver because Mike Brown has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Seattle with a back injury. The team also is without starter Justin Blackmon, who is suspended four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Ebert was on the 53-man roster for last week’s game at Oakland and had a 5-yard reception. He was waived the next day and then signed to the practice squad.

He spent the preseason with the Jaguars, finishing with five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown. He was a seventh-round draft pick by New England in 2012 and spent time on the Patriots’ practice squad as a rookie.
