Rays’ Escobar and Lobaton injured

NEW YORK (AP) — Tampa Bay shortstop Yunel Escobar and catcher Jose Lobaton have left the Rays’ game against the New York Yankees because of injuries.

Escobar was lifted with a sore left ankle Tuesday night. He was hurt on a force play at second base in the fourth inning. Kelly Johnson pinch-hit for Escobar in the fifth.

Lobaton was pinch-hit for by Jose Molina in the sixth inning. The Rays said Lobaton had a bruised right elbow and was day to day.
