Combining the fun of meeting strangers with the thrill of nonpartisan politics, two Clark County freeholder candidates have created “speed candidating.”

District 3 freeholder candidates Temple Lentz (Position 4) and Jim Mains (Position 5) are hosting an event where candidates will be available for voters to get a few minutes to sit and talk directly with each candidate before moving on to the next one.

Candidates from all three commissioner districts will be in attendance, and the room will be set up so attendees may choose to talk solely with candidates from their own districts, or visit with all.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Torque Coffee Roasters, 501 Columbia Street, Vancouver

A press release states that “to celebrate taking civics seriously but remembering to laugh,” an 8 p.m. showing of the season premiere of “Parks and Recreation” will be played.

For more information, or to RSVP, visit the event’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1419332731612257/ or contact Lentz at 360-798-0043 or Mains at 360-513-8529.
