Salmon Creek — Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center nurses reunited with children they cared for as newborns during an annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit reunion Sept. 14 at the hospital. About 200 people attended the gathering, which included plenty of fun for kids, including an obstacle course, face painting and prizes. When it opened in 2005, the hospital’s first patient was a premature newborn in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. “We grow very attached to these kiddos and their families,” Unit Interim Manager Kacia Gauthier said. “It’s wonderful to see them again at these reunions, to see how they’ve grown and changed since their time with us.”
