PULLMAN — The Pullman City Council voted Tuesday night for a six-month moratorium on marijuana-related business licenses.

Planners want more time to consider where such businesses may locate. City Planner Pete Dickinson says the entire downtown area may be off limits because of state and federal restrictions to keep at least 1,000 feet away from places regularly used by children.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports a public hearing is scheduled Oct. 29.
